Print Jobs Widget
When you create a PDF output for a Collection, Order, or Whiteboard, Elastic initiates a print job on the server. It will continue to run on the background, not interrupting the other site functions, until the print job is finished. You can see your queued, running, and completed PDFs in the 'Print Jobs' widget. To download a print job, click on it's name.
Your PDF print jobs are divided into three categories: 'Collection', 'Document', and 'Whiteboard.' To view a particular PDF category, simply click on the tab you want to view.
Print jobs that are in 'Completed' status can be downloaded and shared.
Print Job Status Key:
- Queued - Your print job request has been initiated and is in line to be generated. You might see this more when Elastic is being heavily used (e.g. before an order deadline) or with larger files.
- Running - Your PDF is currently being created. This can take from a few seconds to a couple of minutes, depending on the number of products / labels / assets included.
- Completed - Your PDF has been successfully printed is ready to be downloaded or shared as a link.
To Download:
To Share:Some PDFs generated in Elastic can contain massive amounts of information, and that often means a huge PDF file. To share your PDF without downloading the file, click the 'Link' icon and copy the link that appears (CMD + C on a Mac, CTRL + C on a PC.) Copy the link into the body of an email or any messaging system you are using. The recipient of the link will be able to download the PDF on their end.
To Delete:Click the 'X' button, and select 'Yes' to delete a completed PDF print job. The PDF will not be recoverable, so please proceed with caution! However, you can always export another PDF if you can access your saved document.
