Welcome to Elastic
Let’s get into Standard Order mode.
By now, you’ve watched both the Dashboard and Order Creation videos from your toolkit.
You understand your ordering options, and you are ready to start shopping in Standard Order mode.
This pathway offers our most immersive catalog experience, and is perfect for prebook orders and complex assortments.
(Text: Use Quick Order Mode for reorders and faster order entry.)
Let’s get started.
Select “place an order” from the get started menu. Select your catalog. Name your order and select “standard order” mode.
Along the top of your screen, you have your main navigation for standard order mode.
Each of these selections provide tools for the shopping, assorting, and ordering process.
Let’s go through the steps.
The View Catalog screen, where we are now, is where you shop, compare, and research a product line, just like you would in a paper catalog. Instead of flipping through paper pages, you are scrolling, filtering and interacting with the products.
You have controls at the bottom of the screen for filtering, and changing your view.
As you activate a filter, the contents in this space are edited down. I can browse the product line and begin to add products to a cart from here.
We are currently on the 3-up viewing style. By clicking the product name, you will be taken to the product detail page or 1-up view. Here you’re able to see a larger view of the product, alternate product views, video, and product details, like descriptions and inventory availability.
The next step in our order process is the Build Order screen.
This screen is all about visualizing and organizing your assortment. Instead of cutting images out of a paper catalog, or dragging CADs around in Illustrator, you can use this space to build a cohesive and smart assortment, in a much more efficient way.
The catalog content from the previous screen has moved to the bottom of your screen. And those same handy filters can be found on the bottom right.
The open space above the catalog is your cart. We already have 2 products in the cart, remember, we added those in the View Catalog step.
Now, you can begin to add to, edit and organize your assortment.
You can build additional carts by clicking this plus button to manage concepts like multiple ship dates or A-B-C door groupings. Each cart will be a separate PO that can be set up with different shipping parameters if desired.
Click on the products from the catalog below to add them to your cart.
An easy way to add many products to your cart at once, is to filter down to the product grouping you want, and click “add all results”.
Select a product to delete it, move it to another spot in your cart, or to another cart altogether.
Double click on a product to view the product detail page. Or if you prefer, you can head back to the View Catalog screen to view this detail and compare products. The choice is up to you. These spaces are all connected and the product already in your cart moves with you. Here, you can review the product information, and even add products to your cart from either of these screens.
When you are happy with your assortment and ready to add units, you can head to the “enter quantities” step.
This screen is set up for easy unit entry.
The same carts you built in the previous step are here with the same products in them, sorted in the same way you organized them on the previous screen.
Enter your units in the open white boxes. The color-coded box next to each entry box shows the available inventory.
This ‘availability’ link, here, will show you if a product has future availability. You can adjust your ship date to match the available date to access that inventory.
Once you have completed your unit entry, the next step is to review your cart as you head to the checkout.
The first screen in this step is a condensed overview of all products and carts in your order. You can easily check your totals and make any adjustments as needed. Let’s say you were overspent on your first delivery date. You can click the pencil icon on a product to adjust the units or remove the product from the order. Or you can easily move those units to another cart by dragging the box over.
Another opportunity to review this order is to click the Summary button to see totals and percentages by category.
Once you are happy with your order totals, proceed to the checkout screen.
Here, simply select your shipping address, check your dates, enter a PO for each delivery, and click “place order”.
And You’ve done it. Your order is complete.
If you are building this assortment as a proposal or for review, instead of checking out, you can just save your order and come back to finalize it later. You can export this assortment content as a PDF or Excel document. To collaborate within the Elastic platform, your sales rep can access your order through their order widget. Conversely, if the rep created the assortment or order, they can ‘share with dealer’ so the buyer can gain access.
A few other important advanced tools to be aware of include importing a file to populate a cart, and our user favorite, the whiteboard, where you can create a custom visual of your order.
You can also rename your order here, adjust your preferences, and even toggle over to Quick Order mode.
